This is the faculty lounge of the castlehogwarts community. Have some coffee, grab a spot on the shabby sofa (donated god knows how long ago by some professor whom none of us knows because he/she left ages ago), and relax during your free period! We can consort and discuss happenings at the school here.
If you want to apply for any faculty position (that is, any position other than student) (Prefect:, Head of House:, or professor)- you must now show us that you've been an active member (in classes/your house common room) during the previous term. We aren't asking for a lot- make a post in your common room every couple of weeks, enter a contest or two, or participate in a class. This shows us that you are truly interested in being a part of castlehogwarts.
Once you are approved for your new position you are now required to fulfill the obligations to your post, or you will forfeit your position. For example, professors must now post a new assignment every 2-3 weeks. Heads of House and Prefects must now work in conjunction with each other and can post anything from "welcome" notices to trivia contests to HP news, either at castlehogwarts, in your own common room, or both.
Professors may set participation requirements for their own classes.
Note for the newly sorted: You are, of course, encouraged to apply for positions, however, the same rules apply- you need to stay active to keep your position.
Note about hiatuses: Yes, emergencies come up and real life gets in the way. You can take a hiatus, but they must be brief. If something comes up and you are going to be out longer than a couple of weeks, or no longer able to keep your obligations, you must inform either Rachel or myself immediately to make other arrangements.
This is not to make things difficult for anyone, but we know that it's incredibly frustrating for professors and students alike when no one participates.
